Philimene Phillis 'Philly' Jacobs

Philimene Phillis Jacobs, 75, of Darien, WI died May 5, 2017 at Agrace Hospice in Janesville. Philly was born August 10, 1941 the daughter of Oscar and Velma Rozell. Philly married Kenneth (Bud) Jacobs on June 13, 1959. Philly was employed for many years by Roadmaster /Brunswick where she was promoted to quality manager in an era when women seldom achieved management positions. After her retirement Philly & Bud spent many hours playing in euchre tournaments. She loved discussing politics and world affairs on social media. Philly was always there to lend a helping hand, whether you needed a place to stay or a few dollars until payday. Philly knew more than her share of tragedy, losing her mother when she was young. Her love of family somehow gave her strength not only to go on, but to love life without bitterness and instill in us gratitude for every day we had together. Her sons and grandsons were the light of her life and she let us know it until the end. Philly is survived by her husband Kenneth (Bud), and her two sons, Kennneth (Karen) Jacobs of Janesville and Steven (Stephanie) Jacobs of Beloit, Six grandchildren, Jeremiah Jacobs (Jessica Wendelschafer), Brandon (Michele) Jacobs, Dylan Jacobs (Sonri Garnica) , Ashley (Jermaine) Carroll, T.J. Smith, Ben (Kimberly) Smith and eight great grandchildren; two brothers Boyd (Karen) Rozell, Clayton (Zippy) Rozell and one sister Norma. Philly was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Sherry Rozell, brothers Elmer, Alvin, Kenny, Alfred Rozell and sister Mandy Pulaski. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Betzer Funeral home in Delavan, WI. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 8th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Betzer Funeral home in Delavan, WI The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Agrace Hospice for their wonderful care.
