Raymond Louis 'Ray' Van Dan

Raymond Louis Van Dan, 85, of Delavan, WI passed away peacefully in his home, at 5:42 pm, on April 25, after dealing with colon and liver cancer. He had many family members present. He was born on April 7, 1933, in Hebron, IL to Clarence and Muriel Van Dan. He married Sheila Robb on 12/27/75, in Delavan. They were married for 42 years. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and one brother, Lawrence. Surviving are his wife Sheila and brother David (Margo). His children: one son, Michael (Sandy), two daughters Vicky (Dan) and Beverly (Mark), two step sons Rick (Stacy) & Kevin (Joleen) 11 grandchildren: Shelly (Mike), Jason (Amber), Beth, Justin (Emily), Jared,Haley Smith-Van Dan, Briana (Mike), Sean, Alyssa, Samantha, Zachary & Ariel. 6 great grandchildren: Dominic, Alexandria, Isabell, Landon, Mary-Margaret, and Sawyer. He was predeceased by both of his parents and a step-sister, Donna Raymond farmed in Walworth, WI. Served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He worked at General Motors in Janesville, WI til he retired. Raymond is a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Optimist Club for 20 yrs. In his spare time, Raymond enjoyed working in his vegetable and flower gardens, working on his genealogy, and being with his family. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend a service on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Delavan WI with Rev. Rickman officiating. The visitation will be held from 9a - 11a. His military burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Lake Geneva,WI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Croix Hospice, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, American Legion, or Optimist International.
