Richard Comstock Leighton, 87 years old, of Williams Bay, WI. died on August 29, 2016. Richard was born in Sheboygan Falls, WI. He attended Sheboygan Falls High School and University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was based at the Air Force Station in Antigo, WI. He finished his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Wisconsin where he met Marie Ann Norrman. They were married on July 31, 1954. They moved to Cedar Rapids, IA where Richard worked for Parke Davis and Co. He was very active in the Harmony Hawks Chorus and sang with the Vigortones quartet. In 1987, Richard and Marie moved to Williams Bay, WI. He continued to be active in Barbershop and joined the Country Gentlemen chorus. Richard participated in Barbershop for almost 60 years. He also enjoyed running and ran in numerous races including the Chicago Marathon twice. He was an avid golfer and golfed until he was 85. His wife, Marie, preceded him in death in 2011. He is survived by his sisters, Janet, Michelle and Connie, his children Kathy (Chuck) Van Hoeck, Leah Ann (Jeffrey) Hudson, Jeffrey Leighton, and Christopher Leighton, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Richard's favorite charity was The Salvation Army. A memorial gathering will start at 10am on Saturday, Sept. 3 and end with services at 11am with Rev. Thomas Dowling officiating. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
