Robert A. Hansen, 91, Lake Geneva, passed away Tuesday Feb. 3, 2015 at the Rosewood Manor, Delavan, WI. He was born March 30, 1923, in Highland Park, Illinois, the son of Walter and Winifred Braghe Hansen. He grew up during the Great Depression. He attended Williams Bay Schools from Kindergarten through High School. After graduation in 1941, he attended aeronautical School in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was then hired by Curtis Wright Company in Buffalo, New York. There he met Mary Malinowski whom he married in 1946. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He moved back to Lake Geneva in 1954 and raised a family of four sons. Mary passed away in 1964, and on August 23, 1969, he married Adeline Gross, a high school teacher from Milwaukee. Robert worked as a carpenter and cabinet-maker for Roy and Richard Karow of Powers Lake for over 25 years and then for Lee Petersen of Lake Benedict until his retirement in 1988. In 2010, Robert thoroughly enjoyed going on an Honor Flight to Washington, DC. Robert was a family man. He was a lifetime active member of VFW Post 2373, Williams Bay. He loved gardening, woodworking, hiking, carving, traveling, and spending winters in the warmth of Mesa, AZ. Robert lived his life with honor, compassion, courage, and humility, and was friendly to everyone. Robert is survived by his wife, Adeline; three sons, Joseph (Alice), Christopher (Colleen), and Jeffrey; his sister, Irene (Donald) Osterbrock, two grandsons, Sean (Christina), and Daryl (Kathleen); two step-granddaughters, Vicki and Hellen; great-grandchildren, Brieanna, Jaren, Evan, and Luka; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Andrew, and his sister, Elinor Hansen. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday Feb. 10, 2015 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church with Fr. Angel Anaya officiating. Burial will be held at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Cemetery.
