Robert Henry Volp

Robert H. (Bob) Volp, 87, formerly of Lake Geneva, died peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2015. He was born Sept. 20, 1927, in Stockbridge, WI, the son of Richard and Louise (Franzen) Volp. He married Dolores M. Kohn on Oct. 21, 1950, in Lake Geneva; she preceded him in death on January 20, 2009. Bob was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired in 1991 after 35 years with Robert Alder & Sons, Delavan. He is survived by three daughters, Cheryl (Tom) Scharine, McFarland, Cindy (Dave) Glessing, Black Earth, and Lori (Mike Trierweiler) Volp, Villa Park, Ill.; three sons, Bob (Brenda) Volp, Murray, Ky., Dick (Pat) Volp, Prairie Du Sac, and Ron (Charlene) Volp, Middleton; 15 grandchildren, Phil, Steve, Alissa, Dylan, Breanna, Chess, Jeff, Cheri, Jake, Jessica, Dan, Dustin, Emily, Luke and Megan; 4 great grandchildren; siblings Marie Perkins, Barbara Hoppe, Gertrude (Herman) Muchnick, Jerome Volp; and many nieces and nephews, especially Lisa (Charles) Cornelssen and grandnephew Tyler Cornelssen. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Norman, Richard and Raymond; and his sisters Beatrice Sontag, Bernice Nussbaumer and Jean Brinsfield. Mass of Christian burial at 12:30, Wednesday, January 28, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Lake Geneva, with Father Jim Scheurman officiating. Burial will follow in parish cemetery. Visitation preceding Mass from 11:00-12:30, at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association P.O.
