Roderick “Rod” Stephen Nielsen, 82 years of age, former longtime resident of Lake Geneva and most recently of Delavan, Wisconsin, passed away on February 24, 2024. He was born on June 20th, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late John “Kenneth” and Helga E. (nee Nelsen) Nielsen. In addition to his successful career as a generator salesman, Rod loved black and white film photography, general photography, fishing, camping, cars, and spending time with family and friends. He will be forever in our hearts, and dearly missed by many.
Rod is survived by his children, Roderick “Rick” Stephen (Robin) Nielsen II and Randolph “Randy” (Peggy) Nielsen; grandchildren Rachael (Jordan), Jennifer (Joe), Trenton, the late Eric, Kirsten (Chris), Alicia (Hayden), and Ashely (Jared); greatgrandchildren Bennett and Margot; siblings Anne Marie (John), Alicia (Jim), Dana (Jean), Les (Sue), and Natalie (Mike); as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents John “Kenneth” and Helga, niece Kristen, nephew Chris, and grandson Eric.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Community Church (N 2620, Harris Rd, Lake Geneva, WI 53147) with a service to follow at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Chuck Cervenka.
