Rose Marie Runnells, 65, of Delavan, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2025, surrounded by her family.
A beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt, Rose will always be remembered for her kindness, willingness to help others, and always being there for anyone who needed it.
Born on March 17, 1959, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, to Gifford and Phyllis Hisel. Rose grew up with two brothers and three sisters; Rose was the fourth child out of six.
Rose worked at GWC for over 35 years where she was a morning cook and also a salad prep lady. Rose became a mom on July 10th, 1982- she was the proudest mother. Then, on June 22nd, 2006, her eyes were lit with even more joy when she became a grandmother.
Rose loved her Elvis Presley and country music. You could find Rose jamming out to music doing anything from cooking to cleaning. Rose could always be found in the kitchen, especially around the holidays, making her pumpkin pies and sugar cookies.
Survived by her daughter April Runnells (Delavan); granddaughter Chloe Runnells (Delavan); brothers Del Hisel (Mauston) and Jerry (Bernice) Hisel (Mauston); sisters Penny (Ken) Kirby (Dodgeville) and Candy (Ron) Olsen (Delavan); her extended family Dan Runnells (Delavan), David (Julie) Runnells (Tennessee), Daryl Runnells (Delavan), Robert (Penny) Barnes (Tennessee), and Billy Barnes (Elkhorn); as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She will be missed by many.
Preceded in death by her parents, Gifford and Phyllis Hisel; sister Pat Smith; niece Tammy Hisel; and her mother and father-in-law Dan and Sharon Runnells.
A celebration of life will be held in the Summer of 2025, details currently pending.
