Rose Marie Stern

Rose Marie Stern, 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn, Wi. She was married for 68 years to Ralph E. Stern. They lived in Lyons, Wi. for 57 years where they raised three children. Rose was a very devoted wife and mother. She gave selflessly to the church in Lyons, worked at the Walworth County Fair in the Methodist Hall serving meals during the county fair, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 9 years. She was kind hearted, soft spoken and had a friendly smile for everyone she met. She loved to travel with her husband on Jones Bus tours. She loved to garden, sew, bake, and do puzzles. For many years she and her husband went polka dancing on Sunday afternoons. They were well known by the polka enthusiasts and even the bands they danced to. She loved to cook and bake for her family. She was often seen dancing in the kitchen as she prepared meals. She loved all holidays with Christmas being her favorite. She loved to decorate the house and was eager for her family to come home for the holidays. Rose is survived by her husband Ralph, her children Ruth LeFeber Cassville, Roberta (Ken) Patnaude Lake Geneva and Richard ( Patricia) Elkhorn. She has 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Patnaude, Platteville, Brian Patnaude (Allison) Dubuque, Iowa, Ronna LeFeber, Edgerton, Wade LeFeber Cassville, Chris Stern Elkhorn, and Sarah (Aaron) Herzfeldt Menasha. She has one great granddaughter Erin Herzfeltd.
