Russell Lee Richardson

Russell L. "Rusty" Richardson, 52, of Milwaukee, by way of Darien, was born August 23, 1969, and passed into Eternal Life, Monday, April 11, 2022. Russ was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Gulf War Veteran, and a Presidential Guard for Presidents GHW Bush and Bill Clinton. He made many, many friends in the Marines he called his Brothers. They kept in touch over the years and vacationed together yearly, and oh the stories that came out of those trips! Russ recently retired from the Wauwatosa Police Department. At the "Tosa" PD, he quickly found another extended family who will sorely miss him. He worked all three shifts in patrol. He was a member of the SRT- Special Response Team a.k.a. SWAT. He was a dedicated member of the department in-house training team, where his discipline was EVERYTHING to do with firearms training. One member of his team described him as "a rough around the edges kinda fella, but he was a great, passionate, and patient person when it came to training." Russ was also the departments resident ‘handyman' when it came to construction needed for training. The people he worked with, and played with, will never forget his sense of humor, his smile, and his readiness to help anyone who needed it. He will be forever missed by his parents, Russ and Danielle Richardson, his sister Danica Horner, nephew Camden Horner, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many, many, many lifelong friends. A ‘Celebration of Rusty', his "Happy Gathering of Friends", will take place Saturday, May 14th, starting at 1pm at the Darien American Legion Post 450. Come and tell your stories, and laugh like he'd want us too.
