Ruth A. Rosenquist (nee Smedstad), age 92, longtime resident of Sunset Hills in Lake Geneva, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, in Burlington, Wisconsin.
She was born on October 18, 1931, to the late Harold B. and Madaline R. (nee LeFebvre) Smedstad. On June 6, 1953 she married Floyd Rosenquist in Chicago, Illinois. The two spent many happy years together raising their family before Floyd passed away on November 3, 2021. Ruth is survived by her children Susan (Alan) Beckman, Kurt (Donna) Rosenquist, Robin (John) Miller, Scott (Kim) Rosenquist, and Keith Rosenquist; grandchildren Megan (Mat), Rachel (Brian), Eric (Abbey), Matthew (fiancé Alyssa), Emily (Matt), April, Kevin (Missy), Hope (fiancé Justin), and Erica; many great-grandchildren, other relatives, and numerous friends. Preceded in death by her loving husband Floyd, and grandson Johnny.
Graduating from Ravenwood Medical Center, Ruth earned a degree as a registered nurse. She served as director or nursing at Willowfield and Holton Manor, as well as staff nurse at Lakeland Care Center. Ruth was a longtime member of Luther Memorial in Delavan, Wisconsin, as well as the Williams Bay Lioness Club. A loving and caring mother as well as a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruth loved spending time with her family. She was an avid reader and traveler, enjoying road trips and fishing trips with Floyd and her family.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at the FUNERAL HOME (515 Center Street, Lake Geneva, WI) from 11 a.m. until service at 12:30 p.m. Ruth will be laid to rest with her husband Floyd Privately at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Legacy Hospice (850 Elm Grove Road, Elm Grove, WI 53122).
