Sharon Lee Frey

October 22, 1942 — October 2, 2025

Sharon Lee Frey, 82 years of Chicago, IL. passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025. She was born October 22, 1942, to the late Donald and Catherine (Nee Collins) Frey in Chicago, IL. Sharon was a longtime member of Jehovah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chicago. She enjoyed watching Joel Osteen and listening to “The Lutheran Hour.” Sharon worked as a Customer Service and Sales Rep for NuArc/M&R Printing Equipment. In addition, she had many side jobs such as selling Avon, Tupperware, Mary Kay products and worked as a bartender. She worked hard her whole life and always had a smile on her beautiful and radiant face. She would save Saturday mornings with her girls to do music marathons while listening to some of her favorites, Carole King and Tom Jones while doing their household chores. Sharon was a mother figure, an endearing friend to many, and a fun and caring neighbor. To start her day, she would look forward to her early morning Snoopy greeting via text for all recipients to be wished a loved and blessed day in the most positive way. Her love for Chicago teams was huge, and she enjoyed cheering them on each and every game. She would energetically tell them how to play their game out loud, the same way, she would tell her Young & The Restless soap opera friends how to live their lives. There were many hobbies she enjoyed along the way, one of which was the love of her flower and vegetable gardens that was ever present through her sharing of what she would sow. She had a love of traveling, especially to Hawaii, Disney World, Ireland, Norway, Mexico and the long road trips with Papa Don, her "Daddy." Sharon enjoyed the adventures of outdoor activities, such as water/snow skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating, snorkeling and biking-all of which gave her the opportunity to see the beauty in nature that GOD surrounds us with. Plus, we must not forget the love of her ballet dancing while growing up and the bowling league days that she enjoyed weekly, as an adult. Sharon will be remembered for a woman of her words, her wisdom, kindness and love for her GOD and many in her life. She did her best to never miss a party and always celebrated life!!! The largest and proudest accomplishment in her life was her family-and let us not forget the importance of her being Greek, Danish and Dutch. She also loved her 67' red Volkswagen Bug and the 72' red Chevy Nova-the first car she bought on her own, something she would never forget and always reminded us of. Sharon's life and memory will live on through all who knew and loved her. She was a blessing and an Angel on earth who now resides in Heaven. Cheers to Our Shar-Bear !!

Sharon is survived by her daughters, Debra (James) Coates and Dawn (Thomas) Montgomery; grandchildren, Jimmy and Sarah Coates; fur-grandbabies, Elias Disney "Eli", Lucy Jo "JoJo", and their many Kitties; fur-great grandbaby, Sherlock "Bubba"; and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Along with her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her siblings Donald Jr. and Anita, as well as her fur-babies, Bear, Catie, Gypsy and Tootie.
