Shirley A. Engle

Shirley A. Engle, 78yrs of Darien, WI. Passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville with family by her side.

Shirley was born on September 11, 1946 in Burlington, WI to the late Arthur and Anna ( Zimmerman) Engle.

Shirley was a loving, caring and gentle spouse, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved reading and spending time with her family and friends and was always ready to listen and talk whenever she was needed. Shirley was a longtime bartender at many local establishments, customer service clerk at Sorg’s Meats and Rollette Oil Company.

She is survived by her spouse Ken Van Acker, Daughter Carmen Benavides, grandchildren Elizabeth (Jeremy) Nyhus, Erika (Devin) Shafar and Raymond (Destiny Kraus) Benavides, Great grandchildren Tyler, Kasey, Ethan, Korbyn, Taylor and Jaxon. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Shirley was welcomed at the gates of heaven by her parents and siblings.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
