March 9, 1934 - Jan. 1, 2017 Shirley Ann Kitzman died New Year's Day, Sunday, January 1, 2017 at home while on hospice. She was born Shirley Ann Petrie on March 9, 1934 in the city of Waukesha, Wisconsin to Edward and Elizabeth (Folman) Petrie. Shirley married Kenneth Kitzman at the Methodist church in Lake Geneva on August 17, 1960. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1975. She was previously married to George Cocroft. She worked at the Oakes Corporation in Elkhorn, Trostels and Northern Precision Casting in Lake Geneva and Croft Castings in Burlington. She was devoted to her family, enjoyed her cockatiels, and had a very green thumb that she used on many flowers and plants that adorned her house and property. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary "Sissy." Ostrander, grandson, Richard Rehak, son, George B. Cocroft, daughter, Lucinda Cindy Jacobs, and sister, Dora Mae Henry. She is survived by her partner of 40 years, James Todd, her brother, Edward "Junior (Margie) Petrie of Rockford, Illinois, her brother, Charles Petrie of Iola, Wisconsin, her son, Mark (Gretchen) Kitzman of Burlington, Wisconsin, daughter-in-law, Candy Cocroft, Nokomis, Florida, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Steinke Funeral Home and Cremation Service helped the family with arrangements. Her graveside service will be on May 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva.
