Terry Alan Hadsell

Terry Alan Hadsell, 75 years old of Delavan, WI, formerly of Gurnee, IL passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025. He was born March 12, 1950 to the late Irwin “Bud” and Evelyn “Evy” (Dickshot) Hadsell in Waukegan, Illinois. Terry attended Waukegan High School in Waukegan, IL where he played football, basketball, and baseball – earning the Golden Helmet Award before graduating in 1968. During his time in school, he also met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Janice Dieterich. On June 3, 1972, Terry was united in marriage with Janice in Waukegan, IL. Terry loved to be outdoors and water activities. He enjoyed boat rides, swimming and fishing. Terry coached his sons’ youth baseball teams, including a 12u Gurnee squad that won a state championship. He continued that dedication to never missing an activity for his grandchildren. Terry was known for his love of card games and being happiest while surrounded by family.

Survivors include, his wife of 53 years, Janice; sons, Nathan (Tiffany) and Matthew (Jennifer); grandchildren, Carter, Coco, Grayson, and Landon; sisters, Sally (John) Katalinich and Debby (Dan) Tate; brother-in-law, Bill (Lori) Dieterich; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas.

A Celebration of Life and Luncheon will be held from 12:00PM until 3:00PM Sunday, July 27, 2025 at The Shanty at Wadsworth Inn, 38985 N US Highway 41, Wadsworth, IL 60083.
