Thomas A 'Tom' Kawczynski

THOMAS ANTHONY KAWCZYNSKI Tom, of Roswell, NM passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, December 15th. In loving memory of Thomas Anthony Kawczynski, born October 16th, 1928 in Krakw, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Esther Kawczynski, his surviving family acknowledges his life full of love and service to many. Tom was a combat wounded veteran from the Korean War (U.S. ARMY 1950-52), and owned a family shoe store (Tom's Family Shoes) in Delavan, Wi where he and his surviving wife, Camilla raised four boys: Mark, who resides in Wi and is married to Sharon and has one son, Taylor; Tom (Jr.) who resides in NC; Bill, who resides in NC and has three children (Ryan, Will and Nikki) and Jon, who resides in CO and is married to Kirsten. In 1958, Tom married the love of his life, Camilla (Shields) where they lived in Milwaukee before relocating to Delavan, WI in April of 1962 where they purchased a home and established Tom's Family Shoe store. While in Delavan, Tom and Camilla raised their four sons and Tom was an established businessman and supporter of many entities, which included: Chamber of Commerce, longstanding parishioner of St. Andrew's Parish, American Legion Post 95 (actively participated in Veteran's Day Parades and events), a fixture of Delavan's Maxwell Street Day and sponsored many teams (bowling, baseball). Tom bowled in the commercial league for 25 years, was an avid golfer at Delbrook Golf Course where he was a member of the Men's Club. Tom enjoyed his many daily interactions with Tom's Family Shoes' customers and lifelong friends, was passionate about developing and maintaining a thriving business climate in Delavan, playing cribbage with neighbors, listening to Big Band music, traveling throughout the United States with his family and carrying out conversations with any and all. Tom and Camilla retired to New Mexico in 1991. Some of his hobbies included garage sales, refurbishing antique furniture and spending his golden years with Camilla visiting family and friends through the country. Tom is preceded in death by two sisters (Geraldine, MaryAnn), one brother (Eugene), Stepfather (Bill) and survived by one brother (Bryan). Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a mass or contribution on behalf of Tom Kawczynski can be made to St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Delavan. Betzer Funeral Home will announce when funeral Mass and gathering has been scheduled at St. Andrews Catholic Church.
