Thomas Vernon White, 86 years old, resident of Racine County and recently of Delavan, Wisconsin, passed away at his residence on January 19, 2025.
Tom was born on July 19, 1938, to the late Vernon and Kathryn (nee Droysen) White. On May 30th, 1959, he was united in marriage to Geraldine "Geri" (nee Huetten) in Racine, Wisconsin.
A man of many hobbies and interests, Tom was a traveler at heart. For twenty years, he and his wife Geri lived in a camper, spontaneously traveling to wherever their hearts desired, notably Arizona and Montana. They took their travels worldwide as well, visiting London and Peru to name a few. In 1964, Tom got his HAM radio license, a passion that was to last him a lifetime and be shared with his children. His call sign was WA9YFF, a call sign his family will never forget. Tom also loved airplanes and was an honorary member of the EAA for over 25 years. He had attended the AirVentures fly-ins since they were held in Hales Corners. He also enjoyed bass fishing, boating, photography and was a certified rock hound, creating many treasured gifts with his talents. He has helped build houses, remodel several small buildings, and remodel rooms in homes. He was a well-liked summer softball player in the Racine bar leagues, and hosted several baseball picnics that always ended in the best bonfires. He loved riding motorcycles from the time before he was old enough to get a license until he was in his early 80's. He loved barbecues, the Packers, campfires and classic cars. But most of all he loved his family.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Geri; children Brenda (Dennis) Williams, Becky (Ed) Weidner, and Dave (Lisa) White; grandchildren Di (Nicole) Weidner, Monica (Dave) Vick, Rachael McKaig, Tony Kroll, Alex Weidner, Sam (Cole, Angela Zippin) White, Sarah (Aaron) Charlton, and Kate (Joshua) Taylor; great grandchildren Michaela, Alma, Ally, Lilah, Kiara, Madison, Jason and Camden; great-great grandchild Athena; many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Kathryn, and his half-brother Vernie White.
