Thomas R. Yakes 72, Lake Geneva, WI. died Friday November 4, 2016 at his residence. Thomas was born June 8, 1944 in Elkhorn, WI. the son of Arthur and Vendalla Belcher Yakes. United in marriage to Janet L. Kuecker September 18, 1965 in Lake Geneva, WI. He was a graduate at The Badger High School, Class of 1962. Was a former member of the Lake Geneva Fire Department serving over 20 years, as well as a member at The Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Served in the Army National Guard in Elkhorn, WI. for 8 years, after which throughout his working life he was a Heavy Equipment Operator retiring in 2006. Surviving is his wife Janet, Sons Michael Yakes of Waukesha, WI. and Dennis (Amiee) Yakes of East Troy, WI. 4 Grandchildren, Joseph, Alissa, Erik and Adam. Sister Carolle Jaklin of Green Bay, WI. and Brother James (Audrey) Yakes of Elkhorn, WI. Preceded in death by his parents, and sister Sherry Joyce. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday November 10, 2016 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Collier officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to time of services.
