Virginia V. Dahl, age 82, of Delavan, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016, holding the hand of her husband of 64 years in the presence of their children at Agrace Hospice in Janesville. She was born on October 8, 1934, in Wautoma, Wisconsin, to Fred and Viola Cox. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1952. Virginia married the love of her life, Merlyn (Red) Dahl, in Columbus, Wisconsin, at the Methodist Church on June 21, 1952. They began their married life in Delavan, where they raised their six children. All who knew Virginia knew of her kind heart and deep faith. She enjoyed living life with "Steamboat" (her husband), clowning as "Daisy," and performing throughout the community in parades, along with special clown services in the Richmond United Methodist Church. Virginia's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Virginia is survived by her husband Merlyn and by her children: Debbie (Rick), Kathy (David), Colleen, Tom (Susan), Bob, and Jim (Angie). She was the proud and loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Nancy (Ole), many nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, one brother and three brothers-in-law. A Celebration of Life will be held at Richmond United Methodist Church, N6197 Church Rd., Delavan, Wisconsin, on Saturday, December 10, with Pastor Kimberly Brumm presiding. The visitation will be held 9 a.m.-11 a.m. with the celebration beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Richmond United Methodist Church.
