William Allen Buzzell

William Allen Buzzell, 96, lifelong Delavan Lake resident died at Aurora Medical Center Burlingtonon August 25, 2020. Allen was born April 1, 1924 in Walworth Co. Wisconsin the son of Edgar G. Buzzell and Virginia (Hinkins) Buzzell. Allen, as he was fondly called, was a World War Two Navy Veteran, a 55-year member of the Delavan Township Fire Department, a life long member of the Delavan Lake Yacht Club, an active member of American Field Service, and the Walworth County Fire Association. He was also a former member of the Aram Library Board, Delavan Community Advisory Council, Delavan Lake Improvement Association, American Legion Post 95, and Boy Scouts of America. He also had a long association with Belfry Theater back in its heyday in the 1950s and 60s. He is survived by his brother, John (Jane) Buzzell of College Park, Pa. Son, Brian (Judy) Buzzell of Delavan Lake, and their Children, daughter, Kristen (Buzzell) Best, great grandchildren Colin, Sawyer and Alec, daughter Ashley Buzzell, son, David (Emily) Getz, great grandchildren Cameron, Nathan, and Graham, daughter Kira (Getz) Wolfe, great grandchildren Jen, Zachary, and Ethan. Son, Greg (Ginny) Buzzell and their Children, daughter Corinne (Weston) Baur, great grandchildren Samuel, Jake, Sophie, and Christina, son Jeremy (Jennifer) Buzzell, great grandchildren Zoe and Myles, daughter Makon (Dennis) Ford and great grandchild Noah. Son, Michael (Kriss) Buzzell and their children son, Lucas (Courtney) Buzzell, great grandchildren Sophie and Gemma. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at the Veteran's Memorial at Spring Grove Cemetery on Saturday September 12 at 11 am. Lynette (Bates) Buzzell will be officiating. Allen's ashes will be buried next to his parents in Spring Grove Cemetery. The memorial is being held near the monument that he climbed for many years on Memorial Day to place a wreath at the top, to honor our fallen military. Son Brian took over after Allen was unable to do it anymore. Memorials can be made to the American Red Cross, Disabled Veterans of Wisconsin, Delavan Lake Sailing School, or the American Arbor Foundation.
