It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of William (Liam) Kenney on March 20, 2024, at the age of 73 due to heart failure. His family is devastated by this unexpected loss.
Bill was born to William and Eleanor Kenney on Sept 21, 1950, and grew up in Hopkinson, MA where he was surrounded by many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He graduated from Framingham State University with plans to become a History teacher, as that was one of his many interests. He then decided instead to take courses in computer technology and became an electronics technician and worked for Honeywell, Digital and EMC.
He married Chris Daly on August 10, 1974 and they went on to have four children- Colleen, Jeff, Shannon and Erin. They eventually parted ways and he moved to Westborough, MA and later to Wisconsin to be with “the new love of his life,” Julie Grifo. They were joined in marriage on April 20, 2002 and moved to Delavan, WI. There he got a job as an Asset Protection Manager at the local Walmart. He said he’d work there until something better came along but ended up really enjoying his job and was there for 11 years. He retired in September of 2015 to enjoy more time with his family and friends.
His sense of humor was second to none and he spent a good amount of time trying to make people laugh and smile. He could find a bright spot in any situation by making a joke or comment fueled by his quick and uncanny wit. His passions included golf, the Boston Red Sox, cookies, ice cream and anything dipped in chocolate. The only thing he was more passionate about was his love for his wife, Julie. He treated her like a queen and did anything and everything to make her happy. That love was reciprocal, and they were both forever grateful to be such significant parts of each other’s lives.
Bill is survived by his wife, Julie, four children from his first marriage, Colleen Kenney (Richard), Jeff Kenney, Shannon Finch (Travis) and Erin Kenney along with his grandchildren Lily, Samantha and Owen and his former wife, Chris Daly Kenney. He; also leaves behind Julie's children William (Dawn), Stephanie and Jared (Laura) Grifo, his grandchildren Anthony, Corbin, Easton, Fiona, Dane and Avery. In addition to his sisters Mary Liscombe (Eugene) and Theresa Rousseau and brother James Kenney, he leaves behind brothers-in-law Len Paulson (Sharon), Mike Paulson, sisters-in-law Phyllis Tribble (Ricky), Terri Saccotelli (Larry), and Sue Ehlen (Ron). The list of nieces, nephews, cousins and all their children is VERY long and he was blessed to have had so many people in his life that truly loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father William, his mother Eleanor and his step- mother Margaret.
Arrangements will be handled by Lazarczyk Family Funeral Home in Delavan, WI. He will be cremated and a Celebration of his Life will be forthcoming.
