In Loving Memory of William Edward Lamb

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord… will award to me on that day.” -2 Timothy 4:7-8

William Edward Lamb was born on March 18th, 1960 and at the age of 66, Eddie went home to the Lord, on July 16th, 2026.

With profound sadness and immense love, we announce the passing of William Edward Lamb, a devoted father, proud grandfather, loyal friend, and cherished family member. Eddie had a remarkable way of making people feel loved. Whether it was a birthday phone call, a daily check-in, or simply asking how someone was doing, he made it a point to stay connected with those he cared about. While our hearts ache in his absence, we are forever grateful for the love, laughter, kindness, and countless memories he leaves behind.

Eddie was, above all, a family man. His greatest accomplishments were never measured by the things he built with his hands, but by the love he poured into his family. His daughter was the light of his life, and his granddaughters were his greatest joy. To his grandchildren—and to many others whose lives he touched—he was lovingly known as “Poppo.” That name became a symbol of his warmth, strength, playful spirit, and unconditional love. Nothing brought him greater happiness than making his family laugh, watching them grow, and reminding them every chance he got just how deeply they were loved. His family was his purpose, his pride, and his greatest blessing.

Known for having the biggest heart and an even bigger helping hand, Eddie was the kind of man who never hesitated to lend a hand to someone in need. He gave freely of his time, his talents, and his love, asking for nothing in return. His generosity and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Eddie was a gifted carpenter and man of many trades who could build, fix, or create almost anything. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Eddie loved spending time fishing, finding peace and happiness on the water.

Eddie had a personality that could never be forgotten. He was unique, spunky, quick-witted, and always ready with a joke or playful remark to make those around him smile. His sense of humor brought light into every room, and even on the hardest days, he found a way to make people laugh. One of his favorite sayings was, “Do as I say, not as I do,” a phrase his family will forever hear in his voice, bringing smiles through their tears.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that Eddie’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the unconditional love he gave. His strength, generosity, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family will never be forgotten.

Eddie Lamb leaves behind a family who will miss him beyond words but who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. Every story told, every laugh shared, every fishing trip remembered, and every project built with love will serve as a reminder that he is never truly gone.

Poppo, thank you for every sacrifice, every lesson, every joke, every hug, and every moment of unconditional love. We will miss hearing your voice, seeing your smile, and watching you do what you did best—loving your family with everything you had. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that you are at peace in the presence of the Lord. Until we meet again, may God hold you in His arms, and may your love continue to guide us each day.

He is survived by Rachael Lamb; his daughter, DezaRae Cocroft; his grandchildren, AnnaBelle (Vince) Cocroft-Umnus, MaddaLynn (Skyler) Cocroft-Hickman, Alyssa Cocroft, Austin Cocroft, Christopher Cocroft, and Ayden Quinonez; and his great-grandson, Liam Hickman.

William Edward Lamb was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbara Lamb; his brothers, Jim Lamb and Jerry Lamb; his sisters, Kathy Stebnitz Lamb and Lori Kay Lamb; and his son-in-law, Christopher Lee Cocroft.

He is also survived by his sisters, Janet Van de Sand, Judy Lamb, Jennie Lamb, Jayne (Keith) Katers, and Patti (Mike) McCarthy, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
